Shaker Christmas Card feat. Mama Elephant Fa La La

Hi there!

How are you doing? I hope you are fully on with crafting for this fall and winter season. Like many of you, this is my favorite season to make cards, but unfortunately, this is also the period where I have the least time for crafting.

But, I did it, I’ve made my first christmas card if this year. I couldn’t resist to make a shaker card and add some sparkles behind the beautiful trees from the new Mama Elephant Into the Woods die.

I’ve used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Woodgrain Backdrop die to create a subtile texture in the pink cardstock and the Big Winter Scripty Words with Lawn Fawn’s Guava ink.

To add some extra dimension to the sentiment, I left my paper in my MISTI, cleaned off my stamp, and stamped it again with some Versamark Clear Embossing Ink. Then I sprinkled on some Clear Embossing Powder, and heat set it with my heat tool. It makes the sentiment bold and shiny!

For the shaker frame I did something different this time. Normally I use some sort of foam, but for this one, I’ve cut out multiple pieces of the frame, using thick cardstock. By stacking these layers, and adding the vellum trees in between, it creates a bit more dimension so the shaker bits can go in between the trees as well.

How many cards do you make for this season, and when do you start?

Let me know in the comments and I wish you a very merry and crafty season!
